Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi began his oath ceremony day by visiting Rajghat on June 9, paying respects to Mahatma Gandhi, known as the Father of the Nation.

This visit symbolised the solemn start to Modi's third consecutive term as prime minister.

Following his tribute to Gandhi, he honored the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the first BJP prime minister, at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial.

"At Rashtriya Samar Smarak, paid tributes to our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our nation. Their unwavering courage and selflessness inspire us to uphold the values they fought for. Their sacrifice also motivates us to build a stronger and prosperous India they dreamt of," read a post on Modi’s official X account.

The formal oath-taking ceremony, scheduled for Sunday evening at Rashtrapati Bhawan, will witness President Droupadi Murmu administering the oath of office to Modi and his Council of Ministers.

The coalition government is anticipated to encompass representation from various allies, including the TDP, JD(U), and Shiv Sena.

BJP-led NDA has own majority of seats in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections in India.

The results, announced on June 4 for the 542 Lok Sabha seats, showed that the BJP fell short of the magic figure.

However, with the support of its alliances, Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term at 7:15 PM at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Mahatma Gandhi, Council of Ministers, Shiv Sena
